Top Independent Comic Books Premiere at New York Comic Con
(PRWEB) February 16, 2007 -- After a successful team-up at the San Diego Comic Con, Summ Publications and King Tractor Press decided that it was the way to go again in New York. A few months later After Hours Press joined the group. "The conventions get bigger and bigger every year, it's easy for the smaller publishers to get lost in the crowd," said Shawn Granger, Executive Editor at King Tractor Press & writer of Family Bones. "Fans have overwhelmingly embraced the idea. Now they have to find the one booth 959, not three separate ones. It's great because we've got so many awesome talents at the booth that no matter when you come there will be something to see, and not just a booth babysitter that some have."
Artists and writers from all three publishers will be at booth 959 for sketches and signing books. So far they've confirmed that T.J. May, Jason May, Buddy Scalera, Joe Caramanga, Byron Jackson, David Berman, and Shawn Granger will be at the booth throughout the weekend. "It's going to be jam-packed with talent. I'm excited to be able to preview Nippon with such an amazing group. It's the first time anyone will get to see what we've been doing," David Berman, writer of "New Nippon".
Just some of the special offerings include the first ever release of "Innocent: The Sword" #2 which also includes a Sneak Preview of "New Nippon"; a special preview issue of "The Devilfish Project", a popular Drunk Duck web comic, for only $2.50; and Jason May, from "Catching Lucifer's Lunch", will have a con exclusive Robot Sketch Book for sale and we'll be featuring Robots Are The New Monkey tee shirts. AHP will promote Models Operandi, 7 Days to Fame and Buddy Scalera's book of reference photos.
"Plus there will be deals," laughs T.J. May. "We like to haggle." With the three publishers working together there will be no shortage of special deals and discounts. King Tractor Press will be packaging all of their books together in one con special for less than 50% retail when purchasing them all. The deals don't stop there.
Summ Publications' work includes critically acclaimed graphic novels "Catching Lucifer's Lunch", "A Day in the Psychosis of David Price", and "Ill Conceived". After Hours Press publishes "Models Operandi", "7 Days to Fame", and "Impossible Tales". King Tractor Press currently publishes "Devil Water", "Family Bones", "Innocent", "New Nippon" and "The Devilfish Project".
